Research
Professor Kim’s research seeks to establish the scientific underpinnings for technologies used in electrochemical energy conversion and storage systems and that make efficient use of energy and electrochemical processing of materials in an environmentally sound manner. This spans engineering applications and the supportive fundamental science. Specific topics in applied research are the following: - Electrochemical energy conversion/storage systems such as lithium secondary batteries, supercapacitors - Synthesis and analysis of metal oxides and metal oxides/nano carbon (Graphene, CNT etc.) composite for electrode material of lithium secondary battery and supercapacitors. - Related to these are the following topics in fundamental research: physical chemistry and electrochemistry of metal oxides, and nano electrochemistry.
