    Prof. Yong-Soo Cho’s research team has developed remote yellow silicate phosphors printed on nanoscale surface-roughened glass substrates for white light-emitting diodes. A nonconventional nanoscale texturing technique is introduced to enhance white luminescence performance of remote yellow silicate phosphor layer printed on a glass substrate. A substantial improvement of the luminous efficacy by ~16% is achieved for both sides-roughened substrate. 3D ray tracing simulations reveal that more rays are extracted with a wide spread scattered radiation pattern. This paper has been selected as the ‘Inside Front Cover’ image of ‘Advanced Optical Materials’ (July 2016)
