Research Interests
Our research focuses on electrochemical biosensors and bioelectronic interface materials for biomedical applications. We aim to develop interface engineering strategies and electrochemical sensing technologies that overcome the intrinsic limitations of conventional electrochemical biosensors, and to translate these advances into wearable, implantable, and neural bioelectronic devices.
(1) Electrochemical Biosensors and Interface Materials
We develop electrochemical biosensing platforms based on functional polymers, nanomaterials, and hybrid material systems. Our work emphasizes the rational design of material–electrode interfaces to improve signal transduction, sensitivity, and operational stability in physiological environments. By controlling surface chemistry, electrical properties, and biointegration, we seek to address key limitations of conventional electrochemical sensing systems.
(2) Wearable, Implantable, and Neural Bioelectronic Devices
Building upon advances in interface materials and electrochemical sensing, we design and fabricate bioelectronic devices suitable for wearable, implantable, and neural applications. Our research addresses challenges in miniaturization, mechanical compliance, and long-term operation in biological environments, integrating electrochemical sensing components into practical device architectures.
(3) Point-of-Care Electrochemical Diagnostic Platforms
We develop electrochemical point-of-care diagnostic devices that enable rapid and quantitative biomarker detection. By translating interface materials and sensing strategies into compact and deployable formats, we aim to support decentralized diagnostics and personalized healthcare applications.
